DAY 1 (D) ARRIVE SIEM REAP

Saum svakom! Welcome to Siem Reap, Cambodia’s unofficial tourism capital and the Gateway to Angkor. Did you know that this sprawling kingdom of the ancient Khmer Empire which thrived from the 9th to 15th centuries was once abandoned and overgrown by jungle? It was then rediscovered in the 19th century by a group of French explorers led by Henri Mouhot. Mouhot described the concealed city as “grander than anything left to us by Greece or Rome” and the mighty Khmer Empire as a “powerful race, so civilized, so enlightened, the authors of these gigantic works.” For that, we say “Merci beaucoup!” Check into the hotel then in the evening, feast on a buffet dinner of classic Khmer cuisine while enjoying a sensational Apsara Dance Performance featuring the traditional culture of Cambodia.

DAY 2 (BL) ANGKOR TEMPLES BICYCLE TOUR

Rise and grind! Get ready to hop on a bicycle and discover the most jaw-dropping temples this side of the planet. Ding ding! We begin with a visit to Ta Prohm, a temple embraced by the muscular branches of ancient trees. This temple is often referred to as the "Tomb Raider Temple" or the "Angelina Jolie Temple" due to its depiction in the 2001 action film “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.” We continue to other amazing sites including Angkor Thom, the Terrace of the Elephants (Pawoo!), and the Terrace of the Leper King. After lunch, we head to the “happiest” among all the temples. A richly decorated Khmer temple, Bayon Temple is known for its colossal stone towers featuring 216 enigmatic smiling faces that portray the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Then it’s onto Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of the Kingdom of Cambodia. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor Wat holds the Guinness World Record for being the largest religious structure ever built. Enclosing 162.6 hectares (402 acres), the area can fit three Vatican Cities with room to spare. Finally we bounce to Srah Srang, a picturesque baray or ancient Khmer reservoir. Take in the serenity and enjoy the relaxing breeze before we make the return trip back to your hotel by bicycle. Tip: For your next movie night discreetly play “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” so you can humblebrag, “Been there, done that!”

DAY 3 (BL) SIEM REAP

Down your coffee and finish that Amok. Today we head to Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and one of the most diverse and productive ecosystems in the world, designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1997 due to its high biodiversity. Jump on a wooden boat and enjoy a scenic boat ride through the calm waters of the lake as we make our way to Kampong Phluk. Located on the shores of Tonle Sap Lake, Kampong Phluk is home to an estimated 3,000 people – mostly fishermen and rice farmers – who live in harmony with the rise and fall of the water. The houses here are built on tall stilts some reaching up to 8 meters (26 feet). During the rainy season the water level rises and covers the stilts, giving the illusion that the homes are floating on water. We tour the Floating Village by foot for a peak into the charming Cambodian rural way of life. Afterwards we tumble back to the city then after lunch, we hit the road this time on a Polaris Trail Boss 330 to explore the glorious countryside visiting a Buddhist Monastery, a local market to check out local produce, and a leather carving workshop. (If you’re looking for a top-notch souvenir from Cambodia, this is it!) Want more? We navigate to the ancient city of Hariharalaya, known today as Roluos. We probe Preah Ko, a temple built by King Indravarman I in 879 (That’s more than 200 years before Angkor Wat!) We also stop by the equally stunning Bakong, the first Khmer temple mountain of sandstone, then journey back to the city by ATV. In your free time in the evening, head to Pub Street and celebrate your last night in Cambodia. Find The Angkor What? Bar or Temple and try Angkor Beer. Cheers!

DAY 4 (BD) SIEM REAP-BANGKOK BY FLIGHT

Grab your passport. It’s time for country number two. Sawasdee! Thailand's economic, political, and cultural capital, Bangkok is Asia’s Cosmopolitan Masterpiece with an intoxicating mix of resplendent temples, bustling markets and malls, compelling modern architecture, exquisite local cuisine, and lively nightlife providing something for everyone. Known as Krung Thep to locals, the full name of Bangkok is actually pretty mouthful: Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Yuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Phiman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit. Try memorizing that! In the evening, we’re serving scenic river views and delicious flavors with an international buffet (There’s fresh seafood too!) on board the Chao Phraya Princess Dinner Cruise. Aroy mak mak!

DAY 5 (BD) BANGKOK CITY TOUR

Wakey, wakey, eggs and bakey! Ready to make the world your oyster? Today we explore CNN Travel’s 2009 World’s Greatest City. Buckle up because Bangkok’s buzz is like no other place in the world. We begin with a visit to Wat Benchamabophit, a majestic temple of classic Thai design. Also known as the Marble Temple, it was fashioned out of white marble imported from Italy. We then take a short boat ride across Chao Phraya River, the iconic body of water and lifeblood of Bangkok. Did you know that Chao Phraya River stretches 372 kilometers (231 miles) and is home to around 280 species of fish, including 30 endemic ones? No trip to Bangkok would be complete without a visit to Wat Arun. Also called the Temple of Dawn, it was named after the Hindu god of dawn – Aruna. It was here that, after the fall of Ayutthaya to besieging Burmese forces, King Taksin stumbled upon a small local shrine and interpreted the discovery as an auspicious sign that this should be the site of the new capital of Siam. Today the temple is one of Bangkok's most iconic structures – not to mention one of the few Buddhist temples you are allowed to climb. Next we visit Gems Gallery then it’s time for some major retail therapy. Platinum Fashion Mall is Thailand’s largest indoor wholesale shopping destination. With over 2,500 shops across six stories, it’s unimaginable to leave empty-handed. You came, you saw, you shop! In the afternoon, we head to King Power Mahanakhon to take the fun to greater heights. Mahanakhon SkyWalk is Thailand’s highest observation deck at 314 meters (1,030 feet) offering 360 degree panoramic views – the best in all of Bangkok! Stay in the Observatory where you’ll feel safe indoors or walk onto the Glass Tray and feel your heart pound with every step. When night falls, prep your peepers for the captivating Mirinn Show – a spectacle of great music, striking choreography, and elaborately dressed performers – while enjoy a delightful dinner. You’re gonna love it!

DAY 6 (BL) BANGKOK-SAMUT SONGKHRAM-RATCHABURI-BANGKOK BY VAN

Load up on Pad Thai and get ready to hit the road for more amazing adventures. We leave the city and head to Samut Songkhram province. Our destination: Maeklong Railway Market, locally known as Talad Rom Hub. This unique market features stalls that occupy a very narrow stretch of train track. Every time a train is coming with its blaring horn as the signal, the vendors fold the awnings and pick up their merch in a matter of seconds. And as soon as the train passes, everything is back in its place within seconds… as if nothing happened. Here you can feel the brush with danger as you stand inches away from a speeding train. Afterwards we head to Ratchaburi province to visit the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Hop on a traditional wooden boat and we make our way through a myriad of khlongs (canals) visiting shops that sell food, handicrafts, and souvenirs. Make sure to try the coconut ice cream. Heavenly!

DAY 7 (B) BANGKOK-JAKARTA BY FLIGHT

Bad news: It’s your last day in Thailand. Good news: You’re heading to another country, this time to Indonesia. Selamat datang! Welcome to Jakarta. Lying on the northwest coast of Java, the world's most populous island, Jakarta – officially Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta (Special Capital Region of Jakarta) and formerly Batavia during Dutch occupation – is the largest metropolis and capital of Indonesia. (At least until now. A new capital is currently being built on Kalimantan and shall be called the Capital City of Nusantara.) From international music events, pulsating nightlife, fascinating theme parks, wide range of shopping opportunities, culinary presentations from all over the archipelago and the world, as well as its distinctly unique traditional arts and culture, Jakarta is truly a capital of diverse splendors. It’s your first day in such an alluring destination. Carpe this diem!

DAY 8 (BL) ANCOL DREAMLAND TOUR

Kickstart your day with a filling breakfast (Did somebody mention Nasi goreng?) then get ready for a day of thrilling adventures at Ancol Dreamland. Located along Jakarta's waterfront, Ancol Dreamland is Jakarta’s largest amusement park offering loads of fun for people of all ages. Explore Dunia Fantasi (Dufan) with over 40 attractions including the iconic rides Turangga-rangga Carousel, the Halilintar Roller Coaster, and the Niagara Water Log Ride. Stop by Sea World Ancol and ogle at more than 4,000 species of fish, sharks, and sea life. Walk through tunnels, massive oceanariums, informative displays, and shows. Make sure to check out the turtle exhibit. It doesn’t end there! We head to Atlantis Water Adventure for endless water fun. Take your pick among the many aqua playgrounds including a wave pool, a rainbow ball pool, a waterfall pool, and two kiddie pools. Slide down all the 8 exhilarating water slides at Asthatirta. Get on the Crazy Water Slide that’s up to 150 meters (492 feet) high. Hop on a floatie and relax at Antila River. Try the Skybox and experience free falling for a few seconds before hitting the water slide. H2 OH WOW!

DAY 9 (BL) JAKARTA TO JOGJAKARTA BY FLIGHT

Rise and shine! Today’s tour will showcase the rich culture of the Big Durian (Yup, that’s Jakarta’s nickname!) We bounce to Glodok, Jakarta’s Chinatown, to visit Petak Sembilan. We stroll the narrow streets lined with houses with eye-catching, red-tiled roofs to experience the daily grind of this authentic Indonesian marketplace. A true shopper’s delight, here you’ll find fresh vegetables, fruits, seafood, authentic Chinese products, and even bizarre goods like skinned frogs, turtles, and bugs. We drop by Toa Se Bio Temple, an 18th century structure built by the Chinese Zhangzhou community and traders of the Glodok market, then head to the National Museum to survey its collection of 61,600 prehistoric and anthropological artifacts and 5,000 archeological artifacts from all over Indonesia and Asia. Across the street is Merdeka Square, a massive park that cradles the National Monument. Known locally as Monumen Nasional or simply Monas, the National Monument is a towering obelisk standing 132 meters (433 feet) tall. Afterwards, we navigate to Sunda Kelapa Harbor, the main port of the Sunda Kingdom from the 13th to 16th centuries. (Make sure to take a photo op with the colossal, traditional Indonesian sailing ships called Phinisi.) We check out Fatahillah Museum then after lunch, it’s off to the airport for your flight to Jogjakarta. Welcome to Jogjakarta (sometimes Yogyakarta or Yogya or Jogja), the center of classical Javanese fine arts and culture featuring batik, the court dances Bedhaya and Serimpi, the masked dance theater Topeng, the puppet shadow play Wayang kulit, drama, music, and poetry. Jogja is also one of Indonesia's most renowned centers of higher education and is the only Indonesian city still ruled by a monarchy. After hotel check in, you’re free to explore and make your mark in this royal city.

DAY 10 (BLD) JOGJAKARTA-MAGELANG-JOGJAKARTA BY VAN

Fall off the bed and gear up for a full day of exciting adventures. We drive to Kaliadem Village located on the slopes of the active stratovolcano Mount Merapi, the jump off point for the Merapi Lava Tour. Get on board a classic Jeep and hold on to your hat as we embark on a thrilling off road expedition to explore the foothills of Mount Merapi. Our first stop: Sisa Hartaku Mini Museum, a humble museum that holds a collection of the personal belongings of a local family that were destroyed by the 2010 eruption of Mount Merapi. “Sisa hartaku” translates to “what’s left of my assets” and whatever is left is a reminder of the power of nature to create and destroy. We continue to the Alien Stone, a fascinating giant rock that looks similar to a human (or alien) head, then visit Kaliadem Bunker, an abandoned shelter for villagers and volcanologists. We end the Lava Tour and wiggle to our next destination: the majestic Borobudur. A design marvel consisting of nine stacked platforms topped by a central dome and decorated with 2,672 relief panels, 504 Buddha statues, and 72 stupas, Borobudur is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument covering an enormous area measuring 123 x 123 meters (403 x 403 feet). Built in the 9th century during the reign of the Syailendra dynasty, Borobudur endured centuries of neglect concealed in darkness. It was rediscovered in 1815, buried under volcanic ash. In the 1970s the Indonesian government, with the help of UNESCO, restored Borobudur to its former glory. The restoration took eight years to complete and today Borobudur is one of Indonesia and the world’s most valuable treasures. Afterwards, we hit the streets this time on a vintage Volkswagen (Top down!) to traverse the surrounding village visiting local handicrafts workshops. We end the day with an unforgettable dining experience high up on the Menoreh Hills at Enam Langit by Plataran where the food is as satisfying as the overlooking panoramic views of six mountains. (That’s Merapi, Merbabu, Telomoyo, Andong, Sumbing, and Prau.) Blissful!

DAY 11 (BL) JOGJAKARTA

Guzzle your coffee and fill up on Mie goreng. (Enak banget!) Today’s activities will jolt you with adrenaline in spectacular sites that highlight the natural beauty of Jogja. We navigate to Timang Beach, a natural spot offering glorious views of abrupt cliffs plunging into turquoise waters. To reach the tiny Timang Island, you can either cross the 120 meter long (393 feet) hanging bridge by foot or take the exhilarating gondola ride. The gondola is a one of a kind apparatus that’s run not by a machine, instead operated by men. Whichever you choose, you’re sure to have a lot of fun. Afterwards get ready for a cave tubing experience like no other. Enjoy the sensory overload while exploring Pindul Cave, floating downstream while traversing the cave’s underground river. See stalactites and bat colonies. At the end of the cave, go for a swim or make a huge splash by cliff jumping. This is gonna be a wet and wild adventure that’ll be hard to forget. Finally we head to Pengger Pine Forest, known for its eye-catching natural art installations and stunning views of Jogjakarta, then head back to the city. Good times!

DAY 12 (BD) JOGJAKARTA-MANILA BY FLIGHT

Wave goodbye to Indonesia and say hello to the Philippines. Mabuhay! Welcome to Manila, the Philippines’ hyperactive capital that’s home to a man-made beach, the world’s oldest Chinatown, and shopping malls as huge as cities. For your welcome dinner, we head to the uberposh Okada Manila. Feeling lucky? Try your hand at the casino table or slot machine. Afterwards, we bounce to The Fountain at Okada Manila. Measuring 37,464 square meters (403,260 square feet) (That’s about 50 Olympic-size swimming pools!), The Fountain will enthrall with its choreographed water, light and sound performances.

DAY 13 (BD) MANILA-SIARGAO BY FLIGHT

Zip your suitcase. Today we’re heading to the Philippines’ surfing capital – Siargao. After an easy breezy flight, it’s time for your first Siargao experience. We head to Cloud 9, the island’s most popular surfing spot. Care for a surf? Or go swimming or just relax while enjoying a fresh fruit smoothie. Bottoms up! Come dinnertime, expect a spread of drool-worthy seafood so good, you’ll probably overeat. Then you’re free to check out the island’s vibrant nightlife. One ice-cold San Miguel please!

DAY 14 (BL) SIARGAO-BUCAS GRANDE-SIARGAO

Get ready for your greatest Siargao adventure yet. More than just the regular sightseeing, today’s activities include swimming, snorkeling, ledge jumping, diving, cave explorations, and more. You’re in for a treat! We head to Dapa then hop on to a boat to Bucas Grande Island’s Sohoton Cove. Ready for something amazing? Prepare to be surrounded by smacks of Stingless jellyfish. Stingless jellyfish have a translucent bell measuring between 2-7 centimeters (0.8-2.8 inches) in diameter but some individuals can reach 30 centimeters (12 inches) long. Though small in size, the sight of dozens, oftentimes even hundreds of them, is truly a magical experience. We also visit Hagukan Luminous Cave. A truly peculiar site, this cave not only produces a “haguk” or snoring sound but also brings a dazzling glow that can be seen on the stalactites, the surrounding water, and on the skin of anyone who enters the cave. There’s also Magkukuob Cave as well as Tundan Cave, the most impressive and deepest cave in all of Sohoton Bay. We also check out Club Tara Resort, Tiktikan Lagoon, and Mark A Island where you can swim and relax to your heart’s content.

DAY 15 (BLD) SIARGAO ISLAND HOPPING

Dig into breakfast then prepare to go on an island hopping adventure to visit three of Siargao’s most famous islands and more. Go snorkeling amidst colorful marine life at the Fish Sanctuary. Discover Naked Island – a sandbar that, as its name suggests, is without any trees or shade. Afterwards, we head to Daku Island for more swimming and snorkeling. Come lunchtime, satisfy your tastebuds with the iconic Siargao Boodle Fight – a delightful beachfront barbecue lunch featuring freshly caught seafood and more. A treat for your eyes and most definitely your tummy! Afterwards, we head to the tiny but mighty Guyam Island where you can relax in a cottage, in a hammock, under a tree, or perhaps explore the surrounding dramatic rock formations. Finally, enjoy your last beach hurrah swimming at Secret Island before the tide rises. Fun times guaranteed! In the evening, a delicious feast of Southern barbecue awaits. After dinner, we hit the mangroves of Secret Beach with a boat cruise while watching glittering fireflies and bioluminescent plankton. It's the northern lights of the sea!

DAY 16 (BD) SIARGAO-MANILA BY FLIGHT

Today, we’re hopping on a flight back to Manila to check out the capital’s exceptional sites and activities. We head to EKartraceway, an indoor multi-level race track designed by professional race drivers from around the world. Choose from a variety of electric karts from the adult karts, junior karts, to double seater karts. Step on the accelerator and enjoy a high speed racing experience. Afterwards, step back in time into Spanish colonial Manila at Las Casas QC where a decadent dinner featuring sumptuous Filipino flavors is yours for the taking.

Conquer the sky and witness the stunning view of Metro Manila's skyline with a professional paragliding pilot. Soar through the air with unmatched views of the city! Afterwards prepare to stimulate your senses with a tour that will reveal the charms of the Philippines’ capital city. We visit Rizal Park, a massive plaza named after the greatest Filipino hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Then we pop into the walled city of Intramuros and explore historical gems like Manila Cathedral and Plaza Roma. Come noontime, enjoy eating like a local at Patio de Conchita with a Filipino style turo-turo (point point) lunch where a wide selection of ready to eat dishes are available for you to order by simply pointing. After lunch, we continue the tour to San Agustin Church, the last and only church standing in Intramuros after the destruction of World War II. This UNESCO World Heritage Site with a rather simple façade conceals an ornate interior filled with objects of great historical and cultural merit. Take note of the intricate trompe l’oeil frescos on its ceiling. We drop by Plaza San Luis then find the perfect souvenir at Tesoro’s Philippine Handicrafts. For your farewell dinner, we’re going all out. We bounce to 100 Revolving Restaurant, an exceptional revolving restaurant offering 360 degree views of Metro Manila's skyscrapers, the Sierra Madre Mountains, and more. Bon appétit!
