Home to nearly 170 islands, the Province of Cebu is the premier gateway to Central Visayas, a region filled with rich heritage and natural wonders providing a unique setting for countless adventures.
Cebu prides itself as The Cradle of Christianity in the Far East because it is here that the first European explorers, headed by the Portuguese Ferdinand Magellan, sailing under the auspices of the kingdom of Spain in 1521, established their first settlement and introduced Christianity which later spread to a vast majority of the country.
Fast forward to today, Cebu has become a thriving hub for commerce, industry, the arts, and tourism.
Nestled in the heart of the island is its capital and largest city – Cebu City. Dubbed the "Queen City of the South," Cebu City is the focal point of one of the grandest celebrations in the Philippines — the annual Sinulog Festival which celebrates Santo Niño or the Child Jesus Christ. During Sinulog season, the province hosts a massive fluvial parade and wild, colorful street parties attracting revelers from around the country and the world dancing to the rhythm of drums, trumpets, and native gongs.
Here in Cebu, there's no shortage of amazing food to satisfy and stimulate one's taste buds. Cebu is popular for its dried Mangoes, Otap (Oval-shaped puff pastry cookie), Sutukil (Cooking seafood three ways), and Lechon Cebu (Roasted whole pig), named by American chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain as the “Best pig ever.” Make sure to try Ayer’s Lechon and Rico's Lechon when in Cebu.
This tour takes you to Cebu’s highlands offering breathtaking panoramic views amidst colorful gardens in full bloom. Unfold secrets of the archipelago’s initial contact with Spanish colonizers with a visit to Cebu’s historical sites. An island hopping excursion off the coast of Mactan showcases the region’s thriving marine ecosystem. The southern tip of the island of Cebu nestles the divine Sumilon Sandbar, Tumalog Falls, as well as the exceptional experience of swimming with the world’s largest fishes. Across Cebu Strait, the island of Bohol features the oddly adorable Philippine tarsier and the peculiar Chocolate Hills.
With its diverse natural beauty, it’s no surprise Cebu was voted the 8th best island on Earth in 2018 by readers of Travel + Leisure. One visit and you'll be back for more!

DAY 1 (LD) ARRIVE CEBU
Mabuhay! Welcome to Cebu, the "Queen City of the South" and home to amazing journeys and delectable food. Did you know that the Philippines was claimed in the name of Spain in 1521 by Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese explorer sailing for Spain, who named the islands after King Philip II of Spain? Philip = Philippines! It’s here in Cebu where the first permanent Spanish settlement was established in 1565. Check into the hotel then brace yourself as we hit the highlands to see some of the most breathtaking views in the area. Discover the story of undying love behind Temple of Leah. Get lost in a garden of a thousand blooms at Buwakan ni Alejandra. Explore the fortress-like viewing deck that is TOPS and take in gorgeous panoramic vistas. After dinner, you’re free to explore and make your mark in such an alluring destination. Carpe this diem!
DAY 2 (BLD) CEBU ISLAND HOPPING
Slap on some sunscreen lotion and grab your snorkeling gear. It’s time for Vitamin SEA! Today we’re going island hopping to visit amazing islands and divine beaches off the coast of Mactan. Hilutungan Island and Nalusuan Island are marine sanctuaries offering vibrant displays of marine life in the shallows. Here you can go swimming, snorkeling, or just relax and soak up the seductive tropical views. The choice is yours. Just remember… Don’t worry, beach happy! After a delightful picnic lunch, we bounce back to the city and check out major sites including Magellan’s Cross and Basilica Minore del Santo Niño which houses the country’s oldest Catholic relic… the Santo Niño de Cebu. Honoring the Holy Child Jesus, the Santo Niño de Cebu is an elaborately dressed, carved wooden figure, believed to be of Belgian origin, that traveled with Magellan on his voyage of discovery and conquest from Spain to the Philippines – making it the oldest Catholic object in the archipelago. During his visit to Manila in 2015, Pope Francis highlighted the Holy Child as the protector of the Philippines for over half a millennium. Aside from its staggering history, Cebu is also home to sensational gustatory delights including Sutukil, Nilarang na Bakasi, Tuslob Buwa, Danggit, Masareal, Pintos, Chorizo de Cebu, dried Mangoes, Otap, Siomai sa Tisa, and Chicharon. Cebu’s most celebrated delicacy, however, is Lechon – one whole pig soaked and stuffed with a mix of herbs and spices, skewered on a bamboo pole, then slow roasted over hot charcoal. It’s so good people often have to stand in line for it. What's more, American chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain named Lechon Cebu as the “Best pig ever.” Now who are we to argue with that guy? Skip the calorie count because tonight we’re bingeing on Lechon Cebu cooked three ways: roasted, spicy boneless, and deep fried. This menu slaps!
DAY 3 (BLD) CEBU-OSLOB-SUMILON ISLAND-CEBU
Today, we need to wake up bright and early but you’ll have plenty of nap time as we roll into Oslob. Ready for a mind-blowing experience? Take the plunge and swim with the world’s largest fishes. Whale sharks can grow up to 12 meters (40 feet) long and weigh an average of 20 tons. Though carnivorous, you don’t need to worry because they don’t pose any threat to humans. (Their diet consists mainly of smalls shrimps and plankton.) Prepare to be wowed (And feel really small!) with this unique wildlife interaction that will leave memories to last a lifetime. Afterwards, it’s onto the gorgeous Sumilon Sandbar for more relaxing and swimming. Water you waiting for? Grab a floatie and jump in. But wait, there’s more! We make our way to Tumalog Falls for a refreshing dip before heading back to the city. In the evening, we pop into SM Seaside City Cebu. Currently the largest mall in Cebu, the 4th largest shopping mall in the Philippines, and the 16th in the world, with a gross floor area of about 470,486 square meters (5,064,270 square feet) (That’s over 1,120 basketball courts put together side by side!) – SM Seaside City Cebu is shopping paradise magnified. Hooray for this chance to complete your pasalubong list. A dozen pack of Cebu Dried Mangoes please!
DAY 4 (BLD) CEBU-BOHOL-CEBU
Hop onto the ferry, we’re gliding to Cebu’s neighboring island of Bohol. Put on a happy face because today we explore Bohol’s delightful countryside. Meet the unofficial mascot of Philippine tourism that is the Tarsier. Fun fact: Tarsiers evolved their wide-eyed gaze to cope with their nocturnal lifestyle, but their eyeballs don’t move. Instead, they have developed the unusual ability to rotate their heads 360 degrees. (Isn't that fascinating?) Next, enjoy a delightful dining experience aboard the Loboc Loay River Cruise where lunch is served while the floating restaurant traverses the length of the jade green colored Loboc River. There’s also an engaging cultural show performed by the local community. Tip: Find the rhythm so your feet won’t hit the bamboo poles during the Tinikling dance. Roll up your sleeves and tread the bamboo slat flooring of the Sipatan Twin Hanging Bridge. Delve into the fascinating world of butterflies and be surrounded by kaleidoscopes of these colorful flutterers at the Butterflies Conservation Center. Afterwards, we set off to Bohol’s beloved crown jewel – the Chocolate Hills. (Not edible! Tempting as its name may seem.) Over a thousand haycock-shaped hills spread across a vast expanse of land (The Philippines' first and only UNESCO Global Geopark, mind you!), the Chocolate Hills turn from green to brown color during summer, making them appear like rows upon rows of chocolate confectioneries. A true wonder of nature and a sight to behold! We head back to Cebu then traverse the length of Cebu-Cordova Bridge – the country's tallest and longest bridge providing spectacular sea and skyline views – then drop by 10,000 Roses… a glorious vision of thousands of glowing white roses. For your farewell dinner, we’re going all out with a five-course gourmet meal at Aquadining at Cebu Ocean Park where the eats are divine (We’re talking Goat Cheese Soufflé a la Flambe and more!) and the underwater view is splendid. Keep your eyes peeled for the fish feeding session (Them fishes gotta eat too!) Bon appétit!
DAY 5 (B) CEBU-DEPARTURE
Guzzle that coconut juice and grab your suitcase. It’s your last day in Cebu but hold your horses… We still have unticked boxes in our itinerary. We head to the Heritage of Cebu Monument – a tableau of sculptures made of concrete, bronze, brass, and steel made by renowned artist Eduardo Castrillo that depicts important segments of the history of Cebu. The nearby Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House which was built in 1675 is abound with grand antiquity and rich history. Walk around to catch a glimpse of what the Filipino way of life was like many centuries ago. Who says time travel is impossible? Afterwards, transfer to the airport for your flight. Cheer up! You’re leaving with tons of great memories, new friends you'll surely miss, and loads of stories to tell. Oh, the places you'll go to next!

Rise and grind! Today, we leave the city’s hustle and bustle and head south to conquer Cebu’s “Gatorade Factory." Tucked in the mountains of Badian and accessible by an easy 15-20 minutes trek from the main road is the mighty Kawasan Falls – a three-tiered waterfall with Gatorade-like waters in light blue color during good weather. Here you can play and swim in the cool water pools surrounded by lush green forests. For lunch, get ready to pounce on a delicious spread called a Boodle Fight… Barbecue, seafood, vegetables, fried noodles, rice, and fresh fruits served on top of banana leaves and eaten with bare hands. It’s a fabulous Filipino feast! Afterwards, we head back to the city and pop into SM Seaside City Cebu.
In the afternoon, we pop into SM Seaside City Cebu. Come evening, we traverse the length of Cebu-Cordova Bridge – the country's tallest and longest bridge providing spectacular sea and skyline views – then drop by 10,000 Roses… a glorious vision of thousands of glowing white roses. For your farewell dinner, we’re going all out with the yummiest seafood fiesta at I Love Bucket Shrimps. (Rated best seafood restaurant in Cebu by Restaurant Guru!) How do you like your lobster?

Whale Shark Encounter Tour with guests from Malaysia
DAY 4 (B) CEBU-DEPARTURE

DAY 1 (D) ARRIVE CEBU
After hotel check in brace yourself for a brush up on world history as we visit Mactan Shrine, the site of the epic Battle of Mactan in 1521 where Ferdinand Magellan was slain at the hands of Datu Lapu-Lapu. The venue hosts two important landmarks dedicated to the two key figures in the historic battle… Magellan’s Shrine & Lapu-Lapu Monument. Did you know that one of the ships that survived the Battle of Mactan, the “Victoria,” made it back to Spain and the remaining mariners are often credited as the first persons to have circumnavigated the globe? Next we run off to Alegre Guitar Factory, a pioneer in the guitar manufacturing business and a supplier of handmade guitars fabricated from indigenous wood and shell ornaments. Who’s up for a jamming session? We continue with major retail therapy. The Outlets at Pueblo Verde is the place to snatch your favorite brands at discounted prices. Nike? Giordano? Guess? Yes! Yes! And yes! After dinner, you’re free to explore and make your mark in such an alluring destination. Carpe this diem!
DAY 2 (BL) CEBU
Wakey wakey! Down that breakfast and get ready to gain access to major spots including Magellan’s Cross and Basilica Minore del Santo Niño which houses the country’s oldest Catholic relic… the Santo Niño de Cebu. Afterwards we swing by the Heritage of Cebu Monument. Completed in December 2000 by artist Eduardo Castrillo, the Heritage of Cebu Monument is a tableau of sculptures made of concrete, bronze, brass, and steel depicting important segments of the history of Cebu. After that, we pop into SM Seaside City Cebu. All that shopping can work up an appetite. Worry not! The Barracks Hawker Center at Carbon Market is the perfect place to dive into the tempting flavors of Cebu and more. Order the Seafood Mix or go adventurous and try Tuslob Buwa, a tasty local delicacy of Pusô (hanging rice) dipped into a wok with sizzling brain gravy. It’s so delicious your neurons will go wild with every bite!
DAY 3 (B) CEBU-DEPARTURE
Guzzle that coconut juice and grab your suitcase. We bid farewell after breakfast. Cheer up! You’re leaving with tons of great memories, new friends you'll surely miss, and loads of stories to tell. Oh, the places you'll go to next!
