about this tour
7 Days, 1 Country
Tour Code: JAVALAVAUPAKUYAW
Start: Busuanga (Airport Code USU)
End: Puerto Princesa (Airport Code PPS)
Destinations: Coron, El Nido, Puerto Princesa

Palawan is a province and an archipelago located southwest of Luzon. It’s the Philippines’ last frontier with a vast majority of its islands untouched by urbanization. Palawan is home to diverse marine and wildlife and stunning vistas whether underground or above.
El Nido and Coron are located on the northern part of Palawan, Port Barton and San Vicente in the northwest, Puerto Princesa in the center, and Balabac on the southern tip.
The capital of Palawan is Puerto Princesa, with an international airport that connects Palawan to the world. Coron, El Nido, San Vicente, and Rio Tuba also have smaller airports that serve domestic flights.
Palawan’s natural beauty has captured the hearts of many including French oceanographer Jacques Cousteau and international author Alex Garland who took inspiration from El Nido’s palm-fringed beaches and hidden lagoons and turned it into a novel “The Beach,” which was later made into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
Palawan has been chosen as the backdrop to Hollywood films including “The World is Not Enough,” “The Bourne Legacy,” and recently, the hit Spanish series “Money Heist” (La Casa de Papel).
Palawan was voted the best island on Earth in 2013, 2016, and 2017 by readers of Travel + Leisure. The Huffington Post also calls it “the best islands in the world.”
This tour allows you to discover World War II shipwrecks and dip into sacred lagoons in Coron. Explore an Underground River with a full mountain-to-sea ecosystem. We’re also checking out El Nido, listed as one of the most beautiful places in the world by CNN Travel and Reader’s Digest, with its spectacular views of majestic karst limestone formations emerging from the most beautiful and clearest blue waters.
Looking for the most epic tropical views to reinvigorate and inspire? Look no further. This is it.

DAY 1 (D) ARRIVE CORON
Mabuhay! Welcome to Coron, the ancestral domain of the indigenous, highly spiritual Tagbanua people that’s home to breathtaking natural spots and remarkable World War II shipwrecks. Check into the hotel then it’s time to face your first Palawan experience. Climb over 700 steps to the top of Mount Tapyas and be rewarded with gorgeous panoramic views. Afterwards, we head to Maquinit Hot Spring. Take the plunge and get those relaxation goals unlocked! Up for a high CRAB meal? For your welcome dinner, dig into the tastiest Steamed Crabs in town. Ever tried Palawan Crocodile Sisig? It’s so good, it’ll CROC your world!
DAY 2 (BLD) CORON ISLAND HOPPING
Finish your Arroz Caldo and down that Kapeng Barako. Today we take to the sea to visit islands, lagoons, beaches, and two out of eight lakes on Coron that are open to the public. Kayangan Lake and Barracuda Lake are sacred cultural sites for the Tagbanua people, one of the oldest tribes in the Philippines. Swim and free dive into these lakes and make sure to take photos of the gorgeous sceneries. Explore the dreamlike Twin Lagoon and experience the uncanny feeling of swimming in thermocline waters (A fancy schmancy way of saying a mixture of cold deep water and warmer surface water), something that rarely happens in other bodies of water, making it a unique experience you absolutely shouldn’t miss. We also check out Skeleton Wreck, a 25 meter (82 feet) Japanese supply ship that was hit by an airstrike by the US Air Force during World War II. In case you missed it, Coron is listed as one of Top 10 Best Scuba Diving Sites in the World by Forbes Traveler Magazine for the abundance of Japanese shipwrecks in the area (There’s 24 of them!) Not a scuba diver? Worry not! Skeleton Wreck is located on shallow waters so you can free dive or simply snorkel on the surface to catch a glimpse. Next, spot Nemo while snorkeling at Siete Pecados. Soak up the sun at CYC Beach. It doesn’t get any better than this.
DAY 3 (BLD) CORON-EL NIDO BY FERRY
Onward! Today, we’ve got our GPS set for El Nido. Hailed as one of the most beautiful places in the world by CNN Travel and Reader’s Digest, El Nido offers spectacular views of majestic karst limestone formations emerging from the most beautiful and clearest blue waters. Story goes that it was El Nido that inspired author Alex Garland to write his novel “The Beach” when he was staying here. The novel was later made into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and became a cult classic. Wouldn't you like to find out what El Nido can inspire you to do? After lunch, gear up for an adventure that will take you to great heights. El Nido Canopy Walk offers a smooth rock climbing experience to Taraw Cliff, the highest peak in El Nido and one of the best viewpoints on the island. Equipped with steel cables, ladders, and other fixed anchors, the route allows even non-experienced climbers to easily reach the top. Get ready to traverse a boardwalk, a hanging bridge, and a 105-step stairway to the cliff’s view deck – 67 meters (219 feet) above sea level. Hope you brought your asthma pump because the view is so pretty it’ll take your breath away! For dinner, we skedaddle to Las Cabañas Beach – the best place to witness the most incredible sunsets in all of Palawan (Yes siree!). Sample mouth-watering seafood and more while feasting your eyes on a glorious view of the sun setting over towering rock formations and the waters of Bacuit Bay. This is bliss!
DAY 4 (BLD) EL NIDO ISLAND HOPPING
Ready to have another awesome day out at sea? Today’s island hopping tour takes us to the mystifying Secret Lagoon, the epic Big Lagoon, and the jaw-dropping Shimizu Island. There’s also plenty of snorkeling at Payong-Payong Beach plus you’ll get to swim in waters that shimmer in various shades of blue at Seven Commandos Beach. Make sure to check out the tree swing and the small bar for that perfect sundowner. Go get it! Come dinnertime, have a taste of the yummiest Thai food in town. Sawasdee!

DAY 5 (BLD) EL NIDO-PUERTO PRINCESA
Sling your luggage into the bus. It’s time for a road trip to the capital of Palawan. With its central location in the very heart of the island, Puerto Princesa is the province’s hub of commerce, education, governance, tourism, and real estate, as well as air, land, and sea transport. Puerto Princesa is called "The City in a Forest" due to the fact that 73% of its area consists of forest land. The city’s attractions have much to do with its natural wonders and commitment to the environment. (Their New Green City Hall comes with environment-friendly and energy-efficient features!) Check into the hotel then soak up the city’s magnetic vibe. In the evening, enjoy a magical spectacle with a river cruise while watching glittering fireflies. Ahoy there!
DAY 6 (BLD) PUERTO PRINCESA UNDERGROUND RIVER
Load up on breakfast then get ready to conquer the Puerto Princesa Underground River, a stunning site known as the world's longest navigable underground river. Did we mention it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of New 7 Wonders of Nature? The views inside the cave are of an otherworldly beauty and will probably make your jaw drop. (Just make sure not to leave your mouth open too long because there are hovering bats.) The experience is both stimulating and imparts a very zen energy. You’re gonna love it! After lunch, we bounce to Palawan Butterfly Eco-Garden & Tribal Village – a captivating showcase of butterflies amidst tropical flowers and plants alongside live exhibits of scorpions, green crested lizards, phasmids, and mantises which are their natural predators. There’s also the adorable Palawan bearcat. The Tribal Village, on the other hand, highlights the culture of the indigenous Palaw’an tribe. Palaw’an people practice animism, believing that all things have a soul and that humans should live in harmony with nature and the universe. Witness a wondrous display of the Palaw’an traditional way of life through their music, arts, and even hunting techniques. Then we make our way to Binuatan Creations, a center that preserves the weaving tradition & handmade craftsmanship of Palawan while empowering communities of grass gatherers, fiber processors, needleworkers, and weavers. Here, colorful woven designs made in front of your eyes are later turned into handbags, wallets, wall arts, fashion accessories, and so much more. We wouldn’t blame you if you get tempted to bring home a piece of Palawan with you. Wanna try your hand at weaving? This is the place! Afterwards we navigate to Balayong People’s Park, a newly opened 7-hectare eco-tourism space and home to more than 400 Balayong (Palawan cherry tree) and 535 more endemic tree species. This place is set to become a major crowd drawer once the trees reach maturity and bear white and pink flowers blooming from March to April. Make sure to check out the Balayong Tower for sweeping panoramic views of the city. Hoo-ha!

DAY 1 (D) ARRIVE PUERTO PRINCESA
Mabuhay! Welcome to Puerto Princesa – Palawan’s capital city and the province’s hub of commerce, education, governance, tourism, and real estate, as well as air, land, and sea transport. Puerto Princesa is called "The City in a Forest" due to the fact that 73% of its area consists of forest land. The city’s attractions have much to do with its natural wonders and commitment to the environment. (Their New Green City Hall comes with environment-friendly and energy-efficient features!) Check into the hotel then slap on some sunscreen lotion. It’s time for Vitamin SEA! Far from the usual beach, Canigaran Beach hosts colorful floating cottages. Hop on and sit back while a motorboat pulls the entire cottage to the nearby sandbar where you can swim and play to your heart’s content. Who needs a Jet Ski when you have a whole cottage in motion? For your welcome dinner, we head to the historic Viet Ville Restaurant for a delicious spread of Filipino and Vietnamese dishes. Did you know that the Philippines is known for its humanitarian tradition of providing sanctuary for refugees including Jewish refugees who fled the Holocaust, and Vietnamese “boat people” who escaped their country after the Vietnam War? Thousands of Vietnamese refugees arrived on boats and landed across the archipelago’s western coastline including the island of Palawan from 1975 to 1992. Decades of Vietnamese presence made it possible for Vietnamese food to be widely available in the city. However, Viet Ville Restaurant is the OG (Original gangsta!) because it’s located in the actual Village that once hosted the refugees. Ăn thôi!
For Astoria Palawan: Palawan Waterpark instead of Canigaran Beach, The Reserve instead of Viet Ville Restaurant
DAY 2 (BLD) PUERTO PRINCESA UNDERGROUND RIVER
Hoo-ha! In the evening, enjoy a magical spectacle with a river cruise while watching glittering fireflies. Major Tinker Bell feels!
DAY 3 (BLD) HONDA BAY ISLAND HOPPING
Ready to have another awesome day out at sea? Today’s island hopping tour takes us around Honda Bay to explore the alluring Luli Island, Cowrie Island, and Starfish Island. The name “Luli” is a play on the Filipino words “lulubog at lilitaw”, which means to disappear and appear on water. The sandbar on Luli Island disappears when the tide is high and reappears when the tide is low. Starfish Island, on the other hand, got its name from the abundance of, well, starfishes in the area. Go swimming and snorkeling. Relax under a coconut tree or in a hammock. Play and unwind just the way you want to. Want more? We glide to Pambato Reef where the underwater views will surely enthrall. After dinner, we scoot off to Kay’s Hot Springs. Take the plunge and get those relaxation goals unlocked!
DAY 4 (BL) PUERTO PRINCESA-DEPARTURE
Guzzle that Coconut juice and grab your suitcase. It’s your last day in Puerto Princesa but hold your horses… We still have unticked boxes in our itinerary. Brush up on World War history at Plaza Cuartel. Pray and meditate at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Immerse in the science of crocodile breeding and perhaps have a taste of Crocodile Sisig at the Crocodile Farm. Enjoy grand panoramic views of Puerto Princesa on the view deck of Mitra’s Ranch. Complete your pasalubong list at Baker’s Hill. Then for lunch, sink your teeth into a spread of drool-worthy seafood including Butter Garlic Crabs, Salt & Pepper Squid, Steamed Shrimps, Grilled Red Snapper, and more… only the yummiest way to send you off!
